LANGUAGE ARTS 7:
This week, we will start learning about and practicing close reading strategies. We will be working our way through our close reading packet while students find strategies that work best for them. There will be no homework outside of class although students are welcome to practice their annotation strategies outside of the classroom.
ACADEMIC ENGLISH 9:
This week, we will read "Dreams Winter" (p. 698) as we establish an understanding ofnarrative structure. We will continue with "By the Waters of Babylon" (p. 705-709) in class, working with the text to practice the concepts of repetition, rhythm, rhetorical questions, narrative POV, dramatic irony, and character development.
FRIDAY HW: Finish "Analyze the Text" on page 716 if not finished in class. Please make sure your answers are written in complete sentences.
