LANGUAGE ARTS 7:
This week, we continue working through close reading and annotation strategies. On Wednesday and Thursday, we will complete annotation stations as an assessment of our work with these strategies. Friday is a library and silent reading day. Students should be prepared with their library books to either return or exchange or a book of their own to read independently. Friday's bellringer will be collected as a quiz grade.
ACADEMIC ENGLISH 9:
MONDAY: Continue work with “By the Waters of Babylon,” focusing on craft & structure and author’s style (p. 717 and 719).
TUESDAY: Front load notes on author’s purpose, parallel structure, and adverbs/adjective phrases. Begin reading “There Will Come Soft Rains.” (p. 723) (Will continue parallel structure tomorrow).
WEDNESDAY: Practice parallel structure worksheet; finish reading “There Will Come Soft Rains."
THURSDAY: Complete comprehension questions (including summary) for "There Will Come Soft Rains."
FRIDAY: Complete close reading of "There Will Come Soft Rains" and margin notes, complete analyze the text for homework if not done in class
