LANGUAGE ARTS 7:
This week, we will be comparing the film version of our novels to the text version. We'll be spending one and a half periods with The Lightning Thief and one and a half periods with Wonder. On Friday, we will wrap up our course with a reflection and folder clear-out.
ACADEMIC ENGLISH 9:
This week, we'll continue our work on our argumentative essay. Tuesday will be your final day for drafting. Wednesday and Thursday are designated writing days and Friday is the day for final revisions, edits, and submission. The essay assignment will be posted in Google Classroom.

Throughout this week, we will be working through our novel and nonfiction texts to pull evidence that supports our argumentative essay prompt. You must decide whether or not you believe that sacrificing freedom in the name of security is worth the cost. As you examine your nonfiction texts, you will be reading through that lens, searching for evidence that will help strengthen your point. Monday through Thursday will be spent reading the texts, finding evidence, and analyzing the evidence. Friday will be spent beginning to draft your final essay.
