This week, we'll start our Poet v. Poet Bracket Challenge. If you are not keeping up with the schedule, you will need to complete work outside of class. Each pairing is worth two points for a total of 16 points.

LANGUAGE ARTS 7:
On Monday and Tuesday, we will begin introducing poetry with Kobe Bryant's "Dear Basketball" and writing our own dedication poem. Wednesday will be spent putting together our poetry notes flipbook. On Thursday and Friday, we will start working through poetry analysis together.

This week will be spent working on the Trial of Spongebob Squarepants as our assessment for evaluating arguments and identifying conflicting information. The presentations will be on Friday. Be sure to be using your class time wisely!

February 10-14

LANGUAGE ARTS 7:
Monday and Tuesday, we will continue working with "Why We Should Not Ban Plastic Bags" as well as the fact sheet that outlines why we should. We will be working in groups, comparing and contrasting the arguments and identifying conflicting information. The remainder of the week will be spent looking at two accounts of Paul Revere's ride and again identifying conflicting information. There is no school on Friday, February 14.

CAREER EXPLORATIONS:
MONDAY: First mini-research project due at the end of the period! Be prepared to share your findings. (Adjusted from Friday, 2/7, because of early dismissal.)
