April 24-May 1

LANGUAGE ARTS 7:

First, students should watch the video in the post titled "Week 4: Overview" which will walk them through the week and show them how to submit their independent assignment.

Second, students should read through the "Week 4: Setting in Literature - Introduction" Google Slides which gives them an overview of theme in literary text.

Third, students should complete the assignment in "Week 4: Setting in Literature - Independent." This will link them to both their assignment and Study Island. Once they complete one 10-question assignment for setting on Study Island, they must hit "Mark as Done" in order to indicate that their assignment has been completed.

Once students have finished the steps up to this point, the remaining work is up to them. I HIGHLY encourage them to complete the Reinforcement work. There is a story, a video of me reading the story aloud, and a link to Google Doc with discussion questions.

CAREER EXPLORATIONS 8:

REQUIRED: You will need to read through (or watch the video) walking you through clusters #1-4. As you complete each cluster, you will complete the CLUSTERS #1-4 NOTES document. All you need on the document for EACH cluster is 1 interesting fact, 1 career you'd like to learn more about, and 1 class at NS that could help you explore that cluster more. When you are done, be sure to TURN IN your CLUSTERS #1-4 NOTES document.

REINFORCEMENT: If you would like to look deeper into one of the first four career clusters, you may complete the short research assignment I have attached. In order to access the information on specific careers, follow these steps:
1. Follow the link to Choices360. Your username is NSS and your lunch number (NSS12345) and your password is spartans1.
2. Click on CAREER PLANNING at the top.
3. Click on EXPLORE CAREERS.
4. Click on one of the career clusters we have covered this week.
5. Click on a career that interests you. (You'll have the most success with the mini-research project if you click on one with a full red circle.)
6. Do your best to fill in the mini-research project and turn it in when you are finished.

This is entirely up to you. If you want to do the project, that's fantastic, but it's not required. If you'd like to just look around on Choices360, that's entirely up to you as well. If you need ANYTHING, email me! :) Have fun exploring!
