Week 8: May 22-May 29

LANGUAGE ARTS 7:

First, students should watch the video in the post titled "Week 8: Overview" which will walk them through the week and show them how to submit their independent assignment.

Second, students should read through the "Week 8: Structure of Literature" Google Slides which gives them an overview of point of view and purpose in literary text.

Third, students should complete the assignment in "Week 8: Structure of Literature - Independent." This will link them to both their assignment and Study Island. Once they complete one 10-question assignment for structure of literature on Study Island, they must hit "Mark as Done" in order to indicate that their assignment has been completed.

Once students have finished the steps up to this point, the remaining work is up to them. I HIGHLY encourage them to complete the Reinforcement work. There is a story, a video of me reading the story aloud, and a link to Google Doc with discussion questions.

CAREER EXPLORATIONS 8:

The work that was posted on Friday, May 22, is the work for the last TWO weeks of Career Explorations. There are THREE required assignments. I highly recommend following them in order because each step builds on the previous one.

Required Assignment #1: Read the article about resume writing. When you are done, answer the questions that follow on the Google Form. You only have the opportunity to submit once. You MAY use the article to help you answer the questions.

Required Assignment #2: Fill out the resume planning sheet. Turn in when you have completed it. I have included a copy of my completed planning sheet for you as an example.

Required Assignment #3: Using the information from your prep sheet in Step #2, complete the fill-in-the-blank resume. Whatever is in box number on your prep sheet will go in entry number one on your resume. I have included a completed resume using the information I provided on my prep sheet as an example. Don't forget to turn in your resume when you have finished.

ALL Career Explorations work is due by June 3.

If you are confused, be sure to watch the video I have posted with this as well. Please utilize office hours as well!x
