October 7-11

LANGUAGE ARTS 7:
Monday will be the final day for work on the Case of Stuart Smally. We'll present our findings at the end of class. On Tuesday, we will start our rotation work for analyzing interactions among ideas, events, and individuals in nonfiction text. Students will be working independently on Tuesday with an article about Frederick Douglass. On Wednesday and Thursday, students will be split into two groups, either working on the Study Island practice session, "Individuals, Events, and Ideas." Both the Frederick Douglass passage and the Study Island session are due by the end of the day (11:59 PM) on Thursday. Students will get grade reports on  Friday.
  1. Independent: Study Island - Individuals, Events, and Ideas
  2. Independent Part 2: "Frederick Douglass"
  3. Guided Instruction: "Mission to Mars"
CAREER EXPLORATIONS:
Monday will be the wrap-up day for the work on the Tour de Skook assignment. Tuesday and Wednesday, we will work on the finance cluster by completing a stock market activity. Thursday will wrap-up our study of the career clusters by looking at human services. Friday, we'll introduce the Career Research Portfolio assignment and begin brainstorming our topics.
