September 16-20

LANGUAGE ARTS 7:
We got a little backed up this week, so this week we'll continue with central idea and objective summary. Monday will be spent practicing writing objective summaries. The remainder of the week, we will be working in our four rotation assignments:

  1. Indepenent: Study Island for summarization practice
  2. Small Group: "Forest Fires Burning in the Amazon Raise Concerns"
  3. Guided Instruction: "Barbara Morgan, Teacher and Astronaut"
  4. SSR: What is the central idea of your reading?
We will review as a whole class and wrap-up loose ends with rotation assignments on Thursday. There will be a quiz on FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 20



CAREER EXPLORATIONS:
On Monday, we'll review the STEM Career Cluster and spend the remainder of the class as well as Tuesday's class dabbling with computer programming use Code.org. Wednesday will take us into health services and we'll be doing some work with disease and injury diagnoses on Wednesday and Thursday. Friday we will focus on Law Enforcement and Public Safety with a few guest speakers before we enter into a trial next week.
